That it's racist to close borders and support only legal immigrants? How is it about race when this applies to ALL illegal immigrants, not just Latin-Americans, and also Latin-Americans come from different racial backgrounds.

See if the liberals make it about race then they can guilt you into agreeing with them.

Illegal immigrants are stereotyped as Mexican and Cuban depending on weather you are from California, Texas or Florida. You could say Latin American fits most of the stereotypes and based on my own personal experience, usually, not always, it would be correct. Now as far as being racist it may seem if you are of Latin American decent that you may be prejudged or discriminated against based on the aforementioned. Just like after 911, people of Middle Eastern decent may have been unrightfully linked to terrorists and held at airports more often and longer than those of other nationalities. The fact is that the majority of illegals are of Latin American decent. We must try to be sensitive to the needs of all people and take into consideration ones ethnicity as only to communicate and understand a persons culture and heritage.

When you see people flooding across the borders of Mexico, you have a pretty good indication of their race. They have come to the U.S. uninvited and refuse to leave. This isn't about race - it's about reality. The government statics show that the majority of illegals in the US are from Mexico.

No one has the right to be in the United States unless they are a citizen or are invited. If you are here illegally, you need to deport yourself before the US citizens do it for you.

Note that I did not say that you were a Mexican, but rather I said that the majority of the people who are invading our country illegally are coming from Mexico.

Now on the other hand, if people want to create a race issue, they can continue to stay here illegally and commit crimes. Then the US citizens will kick the whole race out because we won't know which ones are the legal ones - see what kind of a mess the people from Mexico are creating for the legal ones?

Well, Latin Americans in Latin America come from different backgrounds, but illegal immigrants from Latin America are usually 99,9% non-white.

I agree with you, it's not an race issue. Who seems to try to make it look like a race issue is some anti-immigrants that give arguments like:
"They will destroy "America" and our culture"
"This is "America" not Mexico"
""America" is an Anglo-Saxon country and shall remain!"
etc

Because no one has given any thought to closing the Canadian border. Why should they? There's hardly any Mexicans in Canada!

The difference between Legal and Illegal Immigration is paperwork. When have you ever seen a group of people get that passionate about paperwork, unless there was some ulterior drive?

It's interesting on all those who call people who support illegal immigrants turn around and call you racist and then insult you, make racial slusrs and make assumptions of you that might be true or not. Isn't it racist for someone to assume your white because you're An AMerican?

yeah, i agree totally. If they want to let 1 million Mexicans per year, they should let in 1Million Philippinos, 1M Chinese, 1M Korean, 1M Martians, 1M Canadians...you see my point. We just cant support that many people and besides, there would be no jobs left for those already living here! Why is the US treated like a overflowing lifeboat by Mexico? Even lifeboats have thier limits.
If everybody else has to wait in line then Latin Americans should too.
Give everybody equal chance, it is not a race issue

Of course its not racist to close the borders....Every country has to have control over its borders....But I cringe when I hear some people say get out beaners or wet backs....If you don't think its about race for some, you don't understand the definition of racism....I don't support the other racists who say, this is Aztlan bull crap....

Desperation. And ironically, their supporters have started pushing a YouTube video about (blonde) Polish illegal immigrants and in one part of the video they mention one of the immigrant's blue eyes. I think that was more than deliberate.

i'm against illegal immigration, especially when it means they get free benefits w/o paying taxes. i don't like the idea, so i voice my opinion, especially last year when there was that national walk-out day, or whatever; yeah, all the mexicans in my class called me racist (which was a large number considering i live 5 miles from mexico in south texas). yeah, i don't get what's up with it; i can't be racist especially since i'm half hispanic!!

I think in this politically correct prone society when there is no facts to support a cause they have learned to fall back on racism, because its such a generic tactic good for any 'cause'

Its quite funny actually when you see go back to europe signs being held up by people who's ancestry comes partly from Spain.
