Is he sleeping? Is this a bad time for him? I can call back later...

Fortunately, God really does answer sincere prayers. Unfortunately for you, it appears that God can tell the sincere and insincere apart (maybe He's got Caller ID?).

Try listening harder. "Be still, & know that He is God". Get alone with Him & talk to Him quietly. Ask Him to speak to you. Get you a copy of the Bible (I prefer the Life Principles Bible), as you'll really hear God's voice through His Word. Without trying to be a salesman here, Charles Stanley's book How to Listen to God is an excellent resource to read.

Otherwise, just get alone in a peaceful surrounding, & simply talk to Him & ask Him to speak to you. He'll respond. He's never busy or needs emails or puts you on hold, he just needs your undivided attention & a longing to listen.

God won't answer to us by speaking. He answers to us through faith and by the Holy Ghost. Sometimes the answers are just there waiting to be found. He provides a way to help us get the answers. He is the way, the truth, and the Light. He is always there, he knows what we're doing, thinking, etc.

You should call him back later, and leave all kinds of messages for Him.

Seriously, you can't expect God to automatically respond to you, people go their whole lifes saying "God if you're real...show yourself to me" or something like that.

God will not respond to you because you are "challenging" God....just keep praying to Him, about nothing...what you did today, etc.

If you live a humble and modest life He will come to you.

P.S. I still believe but have never had an answer to God...because I am neither humble nor modest(and I confess to that).

Probably, you are not "called" and "chosen" of God (see: Book of John, chapter 6, verse 44).
Advice: Do not mock God because you do not know what you are doing.

He could be asleep although he must have heard you. He like people who are seeking him. God is not in existence and cannot be seen by our naked eyes. He only exist in our heart, soul and mind - and that is if we are believers and practioners of his teaching which is to be good in heart and soul and in mind to others and to love each other with no pretense. For people like you, because you don't believe in god (as I could imagine so), he is very very far for you to reach. Call again - and don't forget to be a geniunely nice person to others all of your life - you will see the reward.

God is an eternal spirit we have to seek beyond what we physically see and hear with more than our physical ears and eyes. Did you ever consider the possibility that he answered but you can't hear him?

Like we do? You must believe in Him and His Son Jesus first and then you must accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior to be able to have a relationship with Him. His children, those who have the relationship, are able to come and talk with Him any time they want.

He really does want to hear from you. If you seek Him, you will find Him.
