The "Save Darfur" Coalition, formed by Clinton's Secretary of State, Madeline Albright, is agitating for American intervention in the Civil War in Sudan, which she falsely has labeled a "genocide."

For background, you can include where you stand on the Iraq War and on a potential War against Iran.

It really depends on the type of intervention. Can a stabilization force be put in that will give the parties time to sort out their differences or will it just be a quagmire? It is certainly a mess and needs some real attention by the international community.

A thousand years ago the people of Darfur would have migrated to somewhere that could support thier propulation.
One of the great Pox's Civilization has brought us is Borders.
Briatain and France decided the Borders of Sudan and Chad. The area is becoming a worse desert every year. It is less and less able to support anything but scorpions. It is no wonder that the people trapped there by artificail borders are killing each other. Same as the Ogaden and Somalia the Sahara is moving east.

Now the same Western Powers that set up the artificial boundries want to "fix" the problem again. They didn't know what they were doing then and don't now.

Personally I think intervention in any civil war is stupid, what if England and France jumped into the American Revolution? The Confederate states would still be around. Its their country and what they do is what they do. If a country is being cruel to its citizens then they should uprise just like we did in the 1700's.

Albright has been trying to drag us into Darfar for the longest. If she can't get a coalition from the UN to back her why should we go it alone? Iraq is a walk in the park compared to what is waiting for us in Darfar.

Remember the line from Blackhawk Down (book and movie) it was stated.
"We can sit around and watch a country destroy itself on CNN, or we can do something about it."

You kind of wonder which side they'll be on, since both sides will fight those who interfere.
