It is my personal belief that the entity known by many names, though by far the most common one is God, is the same entity described in Greek mythology as Uranus, the Sky. Following the rules of the telephone game, all stories, including those of the Bible(it is a FACT that there are deliberate as well as unintended mistranslations from the original Hebrew to the King James version of the Bible and other translations), change over time through miscommunication, mistranslations, and variations. So maybe there was a root belief in various Gods in one area, and when the human race split to all corners of the world, the stories changed? (not a real belief of mine; just a possibility)

They're both sky gods; I think a more likely explanation is that the Hebrews and Greeks independently came up with Sky Father and then went in wildly different directions with them.

the christian god is a composite of earlier gods and the bible is a composite of earlier legends and stories, yes. I don't know about Uranus *snicker*

But in general, I don't think you can say ALL gods are actually one god. If you study mythology you would see how this is impossible.
