Contractors are lying (like always) to fill their pockets even more.

I'd rather pay more for a house built by Americans and/or legal immigrants because then I would be more guaranteed quality work and also would be contributing to the economy of the USA.
No, I don't agree with that reasoning. That is a very selfish way for those contractors to look at this - they are not thinking of a better deal for their customers, but instead more money in their own pockets. I don't believe employers or businesses pass on any savings they have by hiring illegals on to their customers - I believe they pocket the savings.
I have also heard on here many, many times about shoddy work that people have had done on their homes by contractors who hire illegals. I believe it. Most of them are not qualified for more than simple labor jobs such as digging and being pack-mules. Anything requiring technical skill or knowledge, they aren't usually qualified for.

It all comes down to the rich trying to get richer while saving as much money as they possibly can.
The farmers, the contractors the restaurantaurs, -- they are exploiting these immigrants for profit, and I cant believe that its even a thought of governments to worry about the impact of business should illegals be required to leave.
It would mean that there wouldnt be as much profit margin to the farmers the contractors -- all those RICH people who want to remain getting rich of others hard work.
Theyre talking about taxing the illegals, well they should also tax the employers who hired them for such a low wage, shouldnt they??
Thats pretty much breaking the law isnt it???
Hiring someone when theres a federal minimum wage, and paying them less than that???

No they don't... they lie!
They sell the house at a prevailing market rate. What they are saying (or not saying) is that their profits are lower when they follow the law, and they make more money when they break the law by hiring illegal immigrants.
I tend to think that the work quality seems to be lower when working will illegals. I had many jobs done in my house where the contractors seem to bring undocumented workers.

You have an interesting question. I don't want to put an American citizen out of work, but at the same time I would rather hire an illegal immigrant than a lazy union goon. So I suppose I would have to decide on a case by case basis. If the illegal immigrants are men trying to support a family the best way they can, and they are skilled, I have nothing against letting them work on my house. If they are drinking and chasing the streets after work I would lose interest in using them.

I would rather pay more - VERY HAPPILY!
Then I would pay less in taxes to support illegals getting food stamps, housing, free education, free medical, etc.
And I would live in a country that has fewer low-income uneducated people. A country that protects its borders. A country that has less pollution, less crime, less "press 1 for english" crap.
I would be living in the greatest country on earth and several billion people in the world would love to move here. Since we can't possibly take them all, why not just take the best ones? The ones who are educated. The ones who will sign a promise to never be a burden to taxpayers. The ones who speak english and demand that their children learn english.

No,I don't agree. I have known a few people who invested everything they had in homes built by illegals. Those nice new homes are now falling apart.

Would you rather pay more for a college graduate teaching your children or should we round up crack addicts from the street and give them a crack rock per day to teach? It's not like there would be a huge difference in test results in many school districts.
I can't believe the pathetic people who will sell our citizenship for a thirty cent coupon for tomatoes or to send a fellow American to the unemployment line and screw their neighbor by hiring an illegal alien to do a job an American wants to do.

It seems like illegals would cut corners just because they can. They are not officially trained in anything.
If it were built by illegals and the contractor allowed me a chance for periodic inspections AS the house was built... sure.

I would rather pay more. But, in reality, the modest house that I would buy wouldn't make that much difference in price...what's an extra 20,000 to help keep my fellow Americans with food on their tables.
Even though the liberals take money from my check to help those on welfare who won't help themselves. At least the people that I would give my money to are trying to make a life for themselves.

I wouldnt really care who built the house. As long as it was well built and not over priced, why should it matter? Sounds like your question is more about the immigrants and not the price of the house. Sometimes we American forget that we ALL arrived here by boat.
