Why not go with a 300 winchester mag? I think it a bit more popular than a weatherby

I love the .300 Weatherby, it has alot of knock down power, alot of range, highly accurate round. The recoil is moderate . As far as hunting goes ,i feel it is too large fer most game, even deer, though alot of people use it fer deer hunting, but i feel u lose too much meat with that size of round, unless u get it n the ribs.If u are wanting an all around good deer hunting rifle i would suggest a .30-.30 or .30-.06 depending on your hunting envrioment .the .30.30 is an excellent 100 yard brush gun n the woods. the .06 i would use more fer flat open field hunting .Good luck n picking your right fire arm.

If I need the power it provides, I would rather have a bigger bore, like a .338 Win Mag. the .300 Winchester Mag will do everything that the Weatherby does, at a less expensive price.

I thinks its a good round but commonly comes with a great rifle. The rifle normally has at least six locking lugs on the bolt, so the action is extremely strong. if you hand load, you can load for any game in North America and all but the most dangerous game anywhere else. It does have some recoil, similar to .338 Win. in my opinion. It's a very flat shooting round but a liitle expensive in factory ammo.

A nice hamburger weapon. Just get a good 30-06 and the ammo is less expensive and it is more fun to shoot, not to mention it does not ruin the whole animal so you wind up with nothing but hamburger.
