I'm just wondering, because i recently converted to christianity and i'm not exactly sure what mainstream christians believe on this topic. In my old church, they taught that we'd become gods and have our own spirit children to populate our worlds that we would create and rule. (crazy mormons...i know) Serious answers please...thanks!

praise GOD!!!! you got out of the mormon church.answer your question,praising,worshipping,maybe talking with other saints,exploring,being in awe.bottom line were ever the lord is THATS were i want to be also.and i think we all will have suprises to. in closing don't do what your mama tells you, not your friends,but THE LORD.proverbs 3 ;5-6.

17mezzo: Are you sure, that Christians "go to heaven for eternity" upon dying ? Have you considered scriptures from the pages of the Holy Bible, which include a resurrection from the dead (see: Book of John, chapter 5, verses 28 & 29) ?
In Hebrews chapter 9, verse 27, it mentions about Christ bringing salvation with Him at His return to the earth. If we already have salvation "going to heaven" then, why is Christ
"bringing" it with Him for? When you read the Old Testament and the New Testament of the Bible, the prophecies contained therein, say plenty about Jesus Christ coming back to this earth to straighten things out and give everyone, who God hasn't "Called" (His "elect") in this life, now, (see: John, chapter 6, verse 44 ) a chance then - at Christ's return. By the way, WELCOME TO CHRISTIANITY and ALL the BEST to You in your relationship with God, the Father, through Jesus Christ.
P.S. Christ is returning to this earth where the problems are, to resolve them, shortly.

We will reign and rule with Jesus for 1000 yrs during the Millenium. The New Jerusalem will be brought down from Heaven by God where Jesus reigns and rules in His Kingdom on this renewed earth. We will have responsibilities according to the rewards we get. We will live on this perfect earth that Jesus renews and restores, as we live in our mansions that Jesus promised He would prepare for us. We will enjoy everything on earth in it's perfected state, including animals that will be tame. We may even explore the entire universe. We will continuously learn more and more. We will meet and fellowship with everyone in Heaven. Thank God you are a christian! Read Revelation on Heaven. Also, Randy Alcorn has a great book or CD on "Heaven". Praise God for opening your eyes to truth.
