No Adam and Eve Had many many children! Cain's wife was his Sister. Adam lived over 800 years. Adam and Eve were the First Man and Woman. God Commanded them to be fruitful and mulitiply. It is possible that he married even a niece or a grandniece. Remember in the early developement of humankind, there were no genetic defects that had developed yet. Laws governing incest had not been enacted until the time of Moses. There Was no prohibition in the days of Cain.....

The Bible does not specifically say who Cain’s wife was. The only possible answer was that Cain's wife was his sister or niece or great-niece, etc. The Bible does not say how old Cain was when he killed Abel (Genesis 4:8). Since they were both farmers, they were likely both full-grown adults, possibly with families of their own. Adam and Eve had surely had more children than just Cain and Abel at the time Abel was killed - they definitely had many more children later (Genesis 5:4). The fact that Cain was scared for his own life after he killed Abel (Genesis 4:14) indicates that there were likely many other children and perhaps even grandchildren or great-grandchildren of Adam and Eve at that time. Cain's wife (Genesis 4:17) was a daughter or granddaughter of Adam and Eve.
Since Adam and Eve were the first (and only) human beings, their children would have no other choice than to intermarry. God did not forbid inter-family marriage until much later when there was enough people that intermarriage was not necessary (Leviticus 18:6-18). The reason that incest often results in genetic abnormalities in children is that when two people of similar genetics (i.e. a brother and sister) have children – genetic defects are far more likely to result because both parents had the same defects themselves. When people from different families have children – it is highly unlikely that both parents will have the same genetic defects. The human genetic code has become increasingly “polluted” over the centuries as genetic defects are multiplied, amplified, and passed down from generation to generation. Adam and Eve did not have any genetic defects, so that enabled them and the first few generations of their descendants to have a far greater quality of health than we do now. Adam and Eve’s children had few, if any, genetic defects. As a result, it was safe for them to intermarry. It may seem strange or even disgusting to think of Cain's wife being his sister. In the beginning, since God started with one man and one woman, the second generation would have no choice but to intermarry amongst themselves.

Adam and Eve had other children, males and females, the bible just mentions Cain and Abel. The fact that Cain obviously had relations with a sister would not have posed problems for them genetically, such as birth defects due to having children with a close realitive, because they were still so close to human perfection that it was not a problem. Being in perfection they lived hundreds of years, the bible says Adam was like 800 plus when he died. So the rules for incest did not apply, these laws being made after humans reached a state of physical imperfection which would have resulted in defects in offspring.

Genesis 4:25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
26And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.
Genesis 5: 4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
5And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
Adam and Eve had many children. Cains wife was a sister. And being we are all related to Adam and Eve, we are all basically brothers and sisters.

Well, we can only assume that Adam and eve have many sons and daughters. These sons and daughters married to each others and so on and so on. That's why the life span decreased. From 1000 years life span to only 100.
Abel and Cain were one of their sons.

Honestly the answer is not directly addressed in the bible. It says that Cain married a woman from the land of Nod (whihc sounds like from the land of Oz), but never says where the people that were in Nod came from.
There is an ancient text called the book of jubilees that is not included in mainstream accepted jewish and christian answers question like this. you should peep it sometime. I think it is available on http://www.sacred-texts.com

Actually, Adam and Eve did not stop having children, in the days of Adam and Eve, Incest was not a big deal and it was not an abomination, the babies came out perfectly normal. Their are many things in the bible that are not mentioned but their is no indication that it did not happen.

Yes, our teacher told us once that some parts some parts had been omitted. Genesis Gap, she says. One explanation according to the same teacher said that the Bible is patriarchal just as ancient civilizations had been. That means that it gave more importance to men than to women. Adam and Eve could have bore female children but were not listed because as said, the Bible is patriarchal.
