Good in regards to what?
It's a Korean Martial Art which is what Tae Kwon Do is partially dervied from
It has various kicks, hand strikes, and a variety of takedowns and throws. The stance is taken from Korean Dance.
Taekkyon, in my opinion, is a very good Martial Art. It has a sort of balance where it's not hard and linear, but it isn't completely soft and circular (Not that either extreme is a bad thing, but you can recognize the balance when you see it).
Taekkyon can be deadly in the right hands. Not that the style war of Tae Kwon Do vs. Taekkyon proves which is better, but this 5th dan in TKD got OWNED by this Taekkyon master in this video I saw. :P
There was this part where he climbed on his back, jumped, and stomped on him. Then his Do Bok got all muddy (They were in the mountains). :P
I think it's a great style. I know the competitions don't have hand striking normally, but it teaches hand striking combined with the nice kicks and throwing techinques.
