I REALLY like the though of being a paramedic EXCEPT for my dream of international aid. I love everything about a paramedic career except mobility. I'm ONLY really considering nursing or being a doctor because they help but are ALSO able to volunteer their skills to people in need overseas. As an immigrant I know how spoiled we are here in Canada compared to the rest of the world. I would love to be able to help people (physically with personal skills) to give them a second chance at life in underpriviliged countries. Both doctors and nurses are able to volunteer their skills, but are Paramedics? I haven't been able to find any info on it. I mean programs like -doctors without borders- , not ones where you pay to help(Paramedic careers don't make you rich ;P ). The only way I know of is to join the military...but I don't want to join the military just for the slight chance of being able to us my paramedic skills in foreign aid. help....

I'm sure you could find an agency. Go to your library's career resource section, and tell the librarian what you want to do. If you have a certificate from Canada, it's likely to be accepted anywhere. Of cousre, knowing a bit of the language of your destination can be a help as well, and you will really be appreciated for showing how much you care.
