Ya man it is true electrical branch EEE is tougher because u have to study electrical and electronics and basic mechanical, computer science, civil engineering.
Further you have to face lot papers in each semesters.
I recommend that if only you have interest in it choose it OK.

Toughest is a fuzzy term.
Whats tough for me is not tough for you. I need rigorous derivation to feel comfortable using a formula. I would find civil engineering immensely stressful, but work well in applied computational mathematics.
In order to say whats toughest for you, I have to understand your loves (and move away from them), your background (and move to where its weaker) and your talent set (and move away from it). That would select a field that you would hate, not have any experience with, and your talent and intuition would more likely fail you there.
Everyone has different passions, different backgrounds, and different intrinsic talents. Toughest therefore depends on the person.

Not really. Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical and Chemical are all pretty much on the the same plane. Lots of advanced math and science and mechanics and physics among others.
