...it makes it too hard for them to understand that you might have appoached the idea of god more earnestly than they have?

A part of me wants to remind other skeptics that the best policy is to "walk on eggs shells" so that you don't inflame them, but from what i see, alot of christians see even questioning in general as being hateful. what do you do?!
damned if do, damned if you don't.

I was of the same opinion as you, but below is what I wrote when bed_o' nails226 asked
How old were you when Jesus saved you?

50 when i surrendered, opened my heart and accepted God's love from him. He embraced me like an old friend.
I will serve him as long as i exist.

There's not a path which people considered "Spiritual" that I haven't been down. I actively looked my whole life for any and everything not Christian. My acceptance was one small piece of the puzzle at a time.
I only accepted what proved true from many different angles.
Well look where I ended up... Thank God

Millions of the innocent whom religions persecuted and killed cry out from heaven for JUSTICE yet "we" are to feel GUILT or "scared" of those offended? for tellilng the TRUTH? I think the time has come for the religious to FACE the truth of all their religions have done to destroy so many lives over the course of their existances so CHANGES can come about. "Egg shells" are not what they walked on for centuries while their ancestors killed and killed and killed and STILL "do." An end to it is needed by ALL humanity..........

You state that some of us speak "condescendedly" to christians, simply because I may have studied "God" more intensely than they have. I do hold 3 PhD's in reliigous studies including Philosophy and Psychology but it takes "NO" intelligence" to understand right from wrong. The HISTORIES of these religions on earth are PLAIN for everyone to see and none of it is GOOD. "None" of them is held as "blameless" for centuries of continuous executions and the destruction of many cultures throughout the world, yet WE are to walk on EGG SHELLS? There is one fact which is very well understood by the masses of the world. Nothing GOOD ever comes without a good fight/war and all these delusional religions which keep the world enslaved in their inferior doctrines have nowhere to go but to become EXTINCT. Jesus said when the time of desolation comes, then the time is close and the desolation is that of people not being fooled by idiotic ideologies which enslave their minds simply to benefit the lazy leaderships of worthless religions that USE them to do their killing for them.........

Depends on the christian! There r christian's that still have a self-righteous,which means they are still immature.Paul the apostle speaks of such and says to them. You are still drinking milk, when by now you should be eating meat. The other christian's are one's that walk in the light and hold Jesus as Lord. They're totaly opposite of your assement in that: they love discussing about spiritual truths with all open minded people in "hopes that they can savesome from hell fire" as the apostle paul said.

All people have a tendency to be very defensive of their beliefs. I really think it maybe a slight bit of uncertainty, fear of what might actually happen after death, being wrong and feeling foolish..... I believe that allowing people to believe whatever brings them peace is the way to go....as the Wiccans say.....do as you wish, hurt no one!

All religions have an element of this in them. It's like a "club." You either belong to my club or you don't. My advice is not to be concerned about it. Just speak your mind in a kind and honest way and you have done your job well.

The really neat part about Jesus is that He loves even people like you.
