well once you get beter at skating it really is a good excersice. it works out the hamstring and calfs alot. and last time i checked, there werent that much overweight skaters. BUT im pretty sure its more dangerous than biking. lol.
why not running? its like skating exept more boring but safer.
or ask ur mom to drop u off at like a random place like 25 miles from ur house so u HAVE to walk or run if you want to get home. lol jk. dont do dat xD

Walking is always good. I know something so simple that we do every day right? Well you could add weights to you walking and try walking up a hill or a small incline. And maybe you should try the bike again just wear all the protective gear. Or better yet join a spin class. Hope this helps!!! And good luck!!!

Pick up the skateboard and run home with it under your arm. Once in the house, put the skateboard down and pick up a large dictionairy. This will not only help you lose weight, but it will also tone your arms and improve your spelling.

Get a stationary bike. It strikes me as odd that you won't ride the bike because you busted your arm but you'll skateboard--? Isn't that more dangerous?

Skateboard more. There's no reason that can't help you lose weight, really.
