Anywhere near the beach! Not only are property valuations the higher you get to the Ocean but the weather is much better than it is inland. On some days it can be as much as 20 degrees cooler along the coast than inland.

I live on the beach in Long Beach so don't listen to people that tell you to stay out of Long Beach. Like so many other places, it has good areas and not so good areas.

I live in the old Historic District a block off the beach and we have neither heat nor air conditioning. Truly do not need either.

As long as where you live ends with the word Beach you should enjoy the breezes!

The South Bay is about the nicest. Rancho Palos Verdes Peninsula, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, El Segundo, Torrance (western part), most of Gardena, The reason is: we have the best weather in the Los Angeles area. It never gets too hot because we are so close to the coast. I live in west Gardena about 4 miles from the ocean and we get a nice cool beeze almost everyday. Like today it cool and the San Fernando Valley is smokin' with 90 to 100 degrees. Our air is good quality too.

Hey Stephanie...Hermosa Beach is cool, so is Manhatten Beach and parts of Torrance-
Stay away from South Central LA, downtown area, Gardena, Hawthorne, Long Beach, san Pedro and eastern cities like pomona, riverside...etc..

silverlake is a nice area close to main freeways, very nice areas in the hills, the houses all have an art deco feel to them makes the area interesting, there are many small shops in walking distance, easy access to trader joes, many of the houses are hidden away in the hills, there is still some wildlife around, if you have kids the schools are good, and it looks clean (gardens are neat, homes are maintained, neighbors are nice at least mine are, and close to parks.)
