They already had their second death.God told them when they died from dust they are made and from dust they will return.
When they disobeyed God ,God told them the consequences.

They are in the grave......the bible calls it hell. But it is not a burning place.
Adam and Eve died in a judgment period as did the people in Noah's Day, Lot's Day, Jericho, etc., and they will not be resurrected. They had their judgment and were judged unworthy.
Adam and Eve had everything given to them..they were beautiful, well fed, had a perfect home, perfect bodies....they just had to leave one tree alone in a park probably of a great size. Eve was deceived and Adam followed her instead of rebuking her. He passed the buck when he told God it was His fault..he said it was that woman who ate..the one YOU gave me. He could have asked for forgiveness ,,he could have scolded his wife and then talked to God.
He was most likely afraid to lose her since he was alone for so long and he truly loved her.
But God could have fixed everything or given him a new wife.
We have to rely on God's wisdom all of the time. If he warns us against something...we cannot say that we know better.
It's a test guys, God is testing us to see if we are worthy to live forever.
Can't we try harder?
