I have Comcast basic/extended cable. Where I live (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), it is channel 64. Last week I was in Ocean City, Maryland with my boyfriend and his family. We watched CMT a lot, like always, and it was working just fine. When we returned on Saturday, my boyfriend and I decided to watch music videos on CMT in the morning. When we turned it on, the tv was fuzzy on channel 64! It's just white noise on the tv on that channel now...and we didn't notice it until we arrived home on June 23. Does anyone know anything about what could possibly be wrong with CMT on Comcast cable?

It might just be experiencing some technical difficulties and will be back soon, or the channel is gone for good from the extended basic cable, which wouldn't be all that surprising. I've had quite a few of my favorite channels go to the more expensive cable package, which we can't afford. If you really want to know the answer, call Comcast. They should be able to tell you what's going on.

In the Pittsburgh Market Comcast has moved CMT to their digital Classic level of service. They are in the process of adding new HD, and Digital channels, and because of there agreements with CMT they were able to move it. Each analog channel takes up as much bandwidth as 6-8 Digital Channels and 3-5 HD channels, I'm not sure of the exact numbers but they are around there.

People always complain Comcast does not offer as much HD service as dish so in order for them to compete they have to free up bandwidth and unfortunatly CMT was the first channel to move.

CMT is no longer part of Comcast Basic Cable. I know this because I work at a major hotel where we had just changed to Basic w/HBO and when we tried to program CMT into our TV's, it didn't work. They seem to have also dropped the Hallmark Channel.

while reading a book, you're stimulating the human brain. You transform your literacy and reading skills and you also along the way, become more literate. Even with today's modern tools, you should be able to read still.
While watching t.v. can be good fun, it isn't doing anything to the human brain.
