two fridays ago i felt a sore lymph node (postauricular i think) behing my right ear. it was around 1 cm and was sore and moveable. it's still there but is no longer sore and has gotten smaller. it's still mobile and isn't hard either. is it normal to get this? i'm 14, thin, and healthy, but i have allergies. when will this lymph node go away?

i have a small cut also about an inch and a half below too...

i asked a similar question a few days ago but didn't really state what i wanted to know right...

I believe you asked these same questions in two forms. From the symptoms you describe, it's most likely just some swollen lymph node. Usually in the presence of some minor infection, your adjacent lymph node get swollen. This is a normal immunological body response to thwart off the infection. In the presence of infection, if your lymph nodes do not get enlarged and swollen. That should be a major source of concern. That would indicate that your immune system is weakened. Swollen lymph nodes would also indicate some allergic reaction. to some allergen such as molds, pollen, etc.

I do get this especially when my sinuses get congested. Eventually, this will go away. It might also be due to some minor ear infection. Make sure your ears are free of fluid, and wax build-up. i wouldn't worry too much if you don't have other symptoms such as unexplainable fever or chronic fatigue.

How do you know it's a lymph node? Your ears can get little pieces of cartilege floating around in them, then they go away in a week or two weeks. Don't mess with them. Constant irritation or monkeying with them will cause them to remain longer.
What is the cut from? Are the 2 related? Go to a doctor or dermatologist if it's not better in 1 week.

I do think that it is normal seing how you have alergies. But you really need to stay away from what you are alergic to.
