What animals do you use it on? How does it perform on the game you hunt with it? I would love to purchase one in the future.

In my opinion the .280 remington is just about the perfect North American game round.

Just as effective as '06 and a little flatter shooting.

This round is not a new Idea it has been around in various forms for years, since at least the 1950s.

The 7mm'06 wildcat and the 7mm Express are both identical to the modern .280 Rem.

It's basically a .30-'06 case necked-down to .284" or 7mm

Ammo is not as common as 30-06 but available in most gun stores and even some large chains.

It's about the ideal jack-of-all-trade North American rifle.

yes i have a new england single shot & it shoots great u can use it on just about any game in north america except a grizzly just match your ammo for the game you are hunting and u wont have any problem its performance is very close to the 270 winchester that many shooters consider the only rifle you would ever need for hunting in the us anyway except for grizzly ii have used my 280 for deer, hogs,& elk and they all tasted just fine.

.280 actually dosent perform as well as the .270.Id take the .270 over the .280 anyday, but its really about personal preference. but the .270 will take down anything the .280 will.

If you want a .280, you would be better off getting the more common, and much more versatile 7mm Rem Mag, the recoil will be darned near the same.

It is not a popular caliber and used by very few*... Go with the 30-06 and you will never need another hunting Rifle*...
