I just heard on the news tonight that some woman is suing the makers of Starburst candies because they are to chewy.
I mean really what's next suing the water companies because the water is to clear?

She didn't choke on them. She opened a bag for her grandkids and opened one and ate it, or tried to. When she bit down on it she said that she couldn't open her mouth, and when she did her mouth just snaped open. She is suing for some sort of jaw thing. I saw her on T.V. and she said that she is have a hard time chewing, talking and...get this...sleeping. I can't believe the creep that said that he would defend her.

I think she is threatening to sue to see if she can get some easy money.
If she does go to court its unlikely she will succeed.
The problem is, if Starburst let it go to court and loose, they will then be sued by every one who ever ate a starburst sweet in a class law-action. It will cripple them. The lawyers know this and so the threats to sue often result in settlements.
So, its shame on those that try to sue and the system for allowing these stupid threats of court action.
The rest of us should just look on in dis-belief and try to never give in and try the same thing ourselves.
Unfortunately, the fear of sueing is far greater than the actual occurances. One example being the MCD coffee too hot one, that just urban myth and yet everyone KNOWS its true and propagates the myth.

That's really silly. Like someone already said, all people want is money.....and they don't care how they get it.
Do you know what I found silly / strange.......why in the first place did the company change the name to Starburst??

HELL YES THEY HAVE GONE MAD!!! The news is full of Paris going to jail we sure could have used that expensive media time on something important, I own a bar and restaurant and if you drink one too many they sue me!! Not the adult ordering, paying and drinking it. I am certain their are lawsuits out there that should have been brought ,but look at all the bull**** that makes it to our court systems. O.K. I will shut-up now!!

I hope it's not allowed to get as ridiculous as the "Pants" suit and drag on for two years before someone smacks this woman back into reality-land. The first judge this thing goes in front of should throw it back at this woman and laugh her out of the courthouse. Sheesh.
