I have a deep desire to be a television celebrity, which I had since I was a teenager. But, my life has never gone in that direction and the more I try, the more doors close. And, I feel guilty for having this desire, since we all know that television is not the most positive, healthy influence. I wonder if this is a selfish dream or if the Lord really planted this in my heart. What do you think?

no. God gave man the ability to think for himself, and lust for himself. this isn't a bad dream, but I think that if God gives people dreams, then He sets everything to work out (not necessarily smoothly, but works out). sorry!

I think the Lord plants desires in our hearts from birth and sometimes we just want to live the "star" life. Also note that its hard work you arent going to be getting good work over night. You have to do casting. A lot of people start out doing commercials or instructional videos. Work your way up. Just because God says No now doesnt mean its no forever. God will also close doors so that you can go through the right one. Be glad that those ones are closed because its not God's perfect plan for your life. Hope that is encouraging.

I don't believe your dreams have anything to do with divine "implantation." The desire to become a television celebrity has been something you've wanted from a young age. It doesn't seem selfish, I mean, we've all got aspirations of what we want in life.
Don't feel bad... there are at least a few credible people still left in "show business" these days. You can do it.

No, otherwise every dream would be filled with some sort of meaning, God finds ways to speak when he needs to. An atheist dreaming about a bunny is not a dream from God.
