I don't know what 3rd shift is but my husband travels for work every fortnight so i am with my children all week by my self too.
Since they were born it has been the same thing so I have found it easy(esp as I am 26 weeks with baby #3)
My sons are 2 1/2 and 1 1/2.
They watch playschool at 3.30pm have afternoon tea.
Play outside til 5 pm.
Help me cook dinner.
Eat at 5.30pm.
Bath time at 6pm.
The youngest goes to bed straight after(with a story)
At 7pm the eldest goes to bed(with story).
I rarely differ and it works for me(I need it too for sanity!)
They sleep all night and wake at 7 am.

My husband never participated in bedtime routine, so I don't know what your adjustments would be. In my experience, 3rd shift is 11-7, so it shouldn't change anything, since Dad is still there to give a goodnight kiss.

you need to try and keep the kids routine as similar as possible but i don't understand how it will change their routine. Your husbands yes but why them?
