well, it's really hard to choose the best answer because even myself did not know about this. It just popped up on my mind. Thanks to all of you.

no.. they stay there in a sleep state, like JESUS did. not knowing anything. they are called to a resurection by JESUS HIMSELF. the first one at HIS 2nd return, will bring the righteous to life. after 1,ooo years the wicked will be called to face the judgement of their lives.

We stay longer than forty days. We stay here until the Final Dissolution.

Up=heaven and down=hell. Hmmm. Never understood that if the earth is round....

Only Jesus.

I wrote the first narrative, Theophilus, about all that Jesus began to do and teach until the day He was taken up, after He had given orders through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom He had chosen. After He had suffered, He also presented Himself alive to them by many convincing proofs, appearing to them during 40 days and speaking about the kingdom of God.

no - "the dead are conscious of nothing at all"... there are a lot of scriptures about the condition of the dead - just look at the back of your bible under death or google search it...
