I salt absolutely everything. when i say everything...i mean everything from salads to cheesburgers to grilled cheese, even macoroni, and everything in between. And i always salt my food 3 or 4 times before im satisfied.
Its gotten to the point where my friends hide salt from me and my mom takes it from me, because they're concered with my intake, however, my great grandpa salted thigns heavily and he lived to his 80's, does that mean anything? (he died of old age)
I know i eat too much salt but how will it affect my health in the long run?
Is that salty goodness worth it all?

Thanks!

The initial studies that linked salt to high blood pressure were done like 50 years ago, and it was a gross oversimplification. The latest studies show that high blood pressuse is linked to other things, and salt isn't that much of a big deal.
High blood pressure is mostly caused by smoking, drinking alcohol, poor diet, and lack of exercize.
Reducing salt should be last on your list, not first.
If you don't smoke or drink, have good diet, are not overweight, and get plenty of calcium and magnesium, you are probably ok.
The best thing to do is get your blood pressure checked once or twice a year.

No all that salt is not worth it. you should not ingest more than 2,400 milligrams (mg) of sodium a day, this includes all sodium that is ingested with foods and drinks. this should give you an idea of what that looks like.
an Arby’s Ham and Swiss Melt Sandwich has 1117mg sodium.

consuming that much salt a day will have profound effects on your health in the long run. the biggest will come in the form of heart problems.
stop with the salt everything you eat has enough in it already, use some other spices like garlic (not powder or salt real garlic)

More than about 4 grams of sodium a day is not healthy. It may be a bit less or more, depending upon yoru weight and height. The average person can shoot for 4 gm. of sodium

4 grams = 4 g = 4 gm = 4000 mg (milligrams)

No! To much salt causes complications in all diff ways! I know it can cause a stroke, high blood pressure, heart attack and causes your body to retain water....I'm with you a true blue salt lover. Try sea salt and really make an effort..It will pay off in long run
