For example, I myself star if i find a question very sincere and in-depth, or makes a very valid point. And then there are the ones i star just because they are either outrageous or just plain ignorant.
Why do you star?

Nature and Tired gave a couple of good reasons.

But also if people are connected to me see the Q as starred they may have a real good take on it that I am missing.

I also star if a person is asking a rare and true question.

No stars for troll Q's
No stars for poll Q's
No stars for Qs about another user or bashers.

I star if I think of it, I am so totally forgetful, and I star the question when it is about topics that interest me, or if the question shows that the asker has some good brain power.

I star questions that are looking for help. IE. prayer request, or people that are hurting. it doesn't matter to me what their belief system. if I have empathy for them I star their question.
sometimes I star a question to encourage the asker, and sometimes I star a question that I don't answer, just to let them know I was there.
I also star questions that I want my contacts to look at, it bring the question to their attention.
and I am a Christian.

Oh great...I thought I was starring my answer all this time.

Seriously..I star for various reasons..To bring attention to a question,so that my friends might add input as well..or just because it was thought provoking or humorous..Often times to spare one's feelings if no one else starred the question.

I am a very silly Christian. But serious about God.

Funny, interesting, irreverent, brilliant... I'm liberal with the stars. No need to be stingy...

I also give a star as a thank-you when someone gives me a best answer.

I star if they are great questions that make me think. If they benefit the world and mankind.

I also star if they are outrageously ignorant or outrageously funny.

I've never bothered with starring questions as, until now, I've believed receiving an answer was the main priority. But, now that you've asked this question, I've been provoked into action & starred this question as it's provoked me into action. :-) I may use this as my starring criteria. Thank you :-)

Brightest blessings.
