to properly answer this question....you should elaborate what kind of sandwiches you are making..
those philly cheesesteaks, with the fake cheese sauce and bad meat would make me sick
but then making sandwiches at Whole Foods should not be too bad

It isn't the most exciting job in the world -- but it is a first step. Yes, it can get pretty dull, but if you think of it as a step towards customer service - think about the guy who is going to enjoy the sandwich you have made - it makes life a bit easier. And once you master the sandwich counter, you can move to another station. You won't want to stay in a fast food restaurant forever, but if you can stick with it, you'll have a good reference and something solid to help you forward in your career.
PS: It gets just as boring making lunch sandwiches at home
every day!

Well what part is making you sick. Is it a smell, does it happen when you first walk in the building? You really need to figure out when it starts.
If it happens when you first walk in to work, there could be something in the air that you are allergic to. And I hate to bring it up but, could you be pregnant? Smells often set women off while they are pregnant. If not just figure out when it starts then you can find the source.

It is possible for you to be allergic or sensitive to something in the air, but not likely. Unless you are positive there is no way you could be pregnant, I would get a test just to rule that out. I must agree with your mom, it is probably just nerves-- and don't drink any caffeine while working-- it can make it worse.

Ugh, I work in a deli... and I know how you feel. We make chickens. We have to take the raw chicken, stick our hand up its behind and rip the fat out, and then drain the blood out and sometimes there's even chunks in the blood. Sometimes the chickens still have bits of the feather stuff on them, those little tube like things. It's very disgusting. We have to stick a rod up their behind and sometimes it makes cracking noises because it's a tight squeeze. It's very gross, the first few times it was absolutely disgusting and I even felt guilty for doing that to what used to be an animal, but you learn to put it out of your head. The job needs done, and you might as well excel in your job and do all the dirty work that needs done. Try to put it out of your mind, I know how you feel... I'd much rather make sandwiches than do that to raw chickens. Yuck!

It's nerves. your working in a fast paced environment. The possibility for screwing up and the pressure to be perfect is hard on you. As you get more time on the job it will get easier, But right now your having to think about everything you need to do, all the time.

Maybe inside yourself, you really dont like the job, deeply inside you wish you're given another job even at the same place, means your subconsious being rebelling on you. Who knows??
