Make sure to rinse with warm salt water several times a day and don't eat anything hard the first few days (apples, nuts, etc) If the dentist didn't give you any pain meds, try heating a cup of hot water, dipping a tea bag in it, ring the tea bag out and place it on your tooth area...it's a little bitter at first, but it is really soothing. Make sure the water isn't too hot.

You will want to keep the area very clean; swish a glass full of warm water mixed with hydrogen paroxide (maybe 1/4 to the water). If it starts to bleed, just put a moist tea bag on it (use pressure).
