Many gender differences are cultural, not biological. Historically women have found it easier to enter certain specialties such as pediatrics, than others such as surgery. But these "walls" are breaking down. There are now women who are department heads and deans of medical schools.
In my experience there are excellent doctors and duds among both sexes.

i think it depends on the speciality. women tend to be better baby doctors. men tend to be better surgeons. but, for real, there are good male doctors and good female doctors. not sure if there is a 'better'.

I dont see why not..the smartest person in the world to this day is a woman--marilyn vos savant
No, seriously...gender has nothing to do with a persons ability to be a good doc. There are so many things to take into consideration..and a doc that might be perfect for one patient, might not be the best for another...

In my Work setting I find the female Dr.'s are more Bleeding Heart than the male Dr.'s. They don't want to Rx the Pt.'s enough, and they tend to believe anything they say, personally, I think they are as Crazy as the Pt.'s !

I do not think gender has anything to do with weather you are a good doctor or not.
