Americans are so upset over this, and the politicians know it, that I don't think the bill will pass. Not only that, I think we have only begun to fight! I believe the government will have to act on the desires of the people sooner or later, and will actually start to enforce some of our present laws and build a border fence. Granted I am being hopeful but I can't help feeling something good will come out of this mess. You should never doubt the willpower and resolve of the American people. But we need to keep the pressure on, and continue with our e-mailing, phone calls, etc.

Boy, I am really going to get a thumbs-down over this, but I think a Pacific Island would be a good place for captured illegals from all Countries--a "Riker's Is." of sorts. They can live there until they make arrangements to leave the island.

I like how optimistic you are.. but I think it will pass the Senate.. I do not think it will pass the House. A couple of years ago the Senate passed an immigration bill that didn't even have all of these border security things in it.. but it failed in the House. I think the same will happen with this one

Unfortunately 90 % of the people are followers and the 10% are therefor helpless. That leaves only the powerful to do whatever is financially best for them.
I, like you, have many thoughts on how to resolve the problem. Most of what I have published has been lost somwhere out in cyberspace. Just like this question. Tommorow, the only way to see it is to go to my profile, for it too will scroll down the list of new questions and vanish in cyberspace.

I agree with 'we have to keep the pressure on', I understand the pros, backed by industry, have been flooding Senator offices and sending baskets of fruit and flags.
I can't predict what will happen tomorrow. Even if cloture doesn't pass, Reid might not withdraw it, and I have no idea what will happen from there.
However, I think we have a real chance of getting this version at least killed in the Senate, if we keep the pressure on.

I am continuing my crusade on this topic, and I hope you are right. I'm afraid that they are so damn ignorant in Washington that it will take them losing in landslide elections the next time they are up for re-election. They have become too arrogant and too ignorant to the will of the people and they are going to learn a hard lesson. Oh well...sucks to be them.

Yes and then we need to fight the old "Fairness Doctrine" which is being resurrected to kill off conservative talk radio.
Are we living in Russia or China? It's getting hard to tell.
