NO! you must be married for him to live on base with you. Living off base is fine but for him to live on base he must have an ID card -he can only get an ID card if he is a dependent or active duty member. Civilians cannot live on base unless married.

No... so many ask this question. You will be living in a dormitory paid for by uncle sam... the U.S government will not pay for a non spouse or dependent to live with you, and they will not pay for you to live off base when there is plenty of space for you on base unless you are married or have children. So yeah its sucks it would be a nice idea to think that you could work hard as a sailor and your boyfriend could mooch off the government and move in with you on base, but its not allowed... Only those with a military I.D can live on base, and your boyfriend will not be eligible for one... if you were to get married it would be a different story. They would then give you a housing allowance to move off base as well as a food allowance until base housing opened up for you. and then he would have access to the base as well because as your spouse he would be issued a military I.D

Most definitely not. Sorry. As a rule, if you are not married you live in BEQs (dorms) on base, and civilians are not allowed in those, espeically not those of the opposite sex. The best you could do is have your boyfriend find an apartment nearby to live in, but you won't get any money to help pay for it though. Sorry, I know this isnt what you were hoping to hear.

absolutely NOT. no guests of the opposite gender are allowed in barracks.

you will have at least one and possibly more roommates. base housing is only for married personnel.

and while you are in A school, you will not be allowed to live off base, nor will you be eligible to receive BAH until you get married or reach E4

No, you will be in barracks and your not allowed to have overnight visitors in most barracks. If you have kids you will probably end up in housing, thats a different story, most housing in norfolk is off base so you can have whoever you want staying there.

That all depends on whether or not you have a child. If you are single and no dependants...no. You'll be staying in a barracks of sorts. You may have visitors, but he cannot live with you.

If you are going to a carrier, you will get housing on board, so no.

If you are in the barracks, it is not allowed.

So really, the answer is no. Tell him to get a job and an apartment.

NOPE. You can *maybe* live off base in the apartment rented on private money.

Ask your commanding officer but more than likely probably not.
