Boring wouldn't exactly be the word I chose.
That's because I'm a Christian who believes in the life of Jesus, and a God Almighty, but not the Bible in it's entirity.
It's a book that's been edited and translated by many many hands. And until the God signed original turns up, I'm not swearing my soul to it.
My soul and my love belong to God the Father and Jesus his son our brother.
God and I have a one on one dialogue, and I do not try to hide my feelings from him, I have no fear of lightening striking me down, as the God I'n familiar with is a loving God. He even forgives more than I am able to... but that's why he's God and I'm just another Earthly child.
There is good in the Bible and it's served a purpose over the years. It is a hard-to-read tome, and I wish it wouldn't have caused so many to lose their lives through the course of history, but...
it has it's place and should be respected.
even if it can be a bit boring...
okay I didn't say that...
Okay yeah I did...
God is laughing with me...
...hehehe, humans are so funny...

If you understood the Bible, you would not call it boring. The Lord even tells you how to understand it. You read it line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little.
You search for the meaning of things and then you just wait upon the Holy Spirit to reveal some things. You read Bible commentaries because godly men have spent years studying the Word of God and you can benefit from their findings.
Bible prophecy is totally fascinating. The Bible is the Word of Almighty God and God clearly states that the Scriptures cannot be broken. That means every prophecy will be fulfilled.
Many have been fulfilled in my lifetime, right before my very eyes. I stand in awe of the writings in the Holy Bible. Boring, you've got to be kidding. Gone with the Wind is boring. Harry Potter is boring. The Origin of Life by Darwin is boring.

I believe the Bible is an old book. Have you ever read The Iliad, or the Mahabharata, or the Popol Vuh or the Koran, the Vedas maybe. Religious reading is not for everybody. Some people call it boring, I think that you'll get out of them as much as you put in, so if you want a riveting story you are much better off reading about the latest Paris Hilton antic.

Some of the historical stories are great, but over all it is boring and baseless. Jonah and the whale is quite the moral fable, but to take the bible literally is just plain naive

Chritians who attempt to read the entire bible generally stop around Leviticus.
They don't want to admit it is a boring book and not 'filled with wisdom from god'
To keep their faith they must stop reading the bible. Atheists are much more likely to have read the bible from cover to cover.

A lot of the bible bores me regularly, but I tend to look for things that interest me. I find the teachings of Jesus rather interesting and how he applies a new form of situationalism to the otherwise hard nosed common law of the Jews.
Thank you for your condescending tone while asking this question, it reminds me of why I started looking for faith.
