you can ask your mom to wait in the waiting room, in fact you can ask the doctor to tell your mom to wait in the waiting room. At 16 you have every right to medical privacy. When I was your age, my folks gave me my insurance card, and I took care of my own appointments and such.

You'll have to check the laws, but I know in most states you have to be 18 to sign your consent forms at the dr.'s office. If you've been to the doctor before and your insurance hasn't changed since the last visit, they should have your insurance information on file.

u can go to the health department and since you are 16 no one will ask any ?'s. please if you are having a problem, go to the nearest health department and get the help that you deserve. if it is like it is in SC you will probably receive better care than if at the Dr's office. the best of luck to u.

Why not check a free clinic or family planning center first. U can find a low/no cost doctor at County facilities as well.
