my bird does not like to be hugged, he's really mean, he is a rescue bird and was tormented by his first owner and has somewhat bonded with me but not to the point of total trust.

I hugged my zebra finch all the time Thats why his name is Hugs He loves it. He's on my hand asleep

Haha, right now as I'm typing this.
Before I saw this question, I was trying to hug my rainbow lorikeet but all he wants to do his lie on his back on my hand and play, so I told him, "Well you play and I'll just pretend we're cuddling."
Then I noticed this question straight after. :P
So we are hugging, even if he doesn't know it. Although now since I've typed this he is jumping on the keyboard.
