This is one of the most asked questions ever..and let me tell you, before you can think of thinking of loosing weight, you have to find it in yourself to do so. ALot of people seem to think..the calories, dieting watching your eating etc. is the fastest way of loosing it..and it's not. I lost 45 pounds in year. I average loosing 5 pounds a month and they came off quick over time after i decided to not stress over it too much. i did though stop drinking so much soda and started to have fruits and vegetables to fill me up during the day and not eat so late at night. I am happy with my weight now, but it has to start from the inside before you can see it on the out,
i hope you achieve whatever weight you want to loose. Be confident.

The way to loose weight is to burn off more calories than you are eating. Make sure that you are eating a lot of fruit and vegtables and healthy foods--not processed foods or fast foods which are full of fat and calories, and cut out the sugars and soft drinks too. Do not overeat in the evenings when you are sitting around watching tv or relaxing because you probably won't be burning off any high calorie snack foods since you will be going to bed. Why not eat some carrots or an apple or celery if you want to snack late at night...those kinds of things would be okay. Oprah said that she does not eat anything after 7 PM and I think that is a good rule!
I guarantee you if you do that and get your body to stop craving sugar, you will get to the point where you will love eating healthy foods and you will definitely loose some weight.
You need to excercise daily--even if it's just walking around the block and back or whatever you enjoy doing like riding a bike or playing tennis or swimming, just some form of excercise because you will definitely be burning calories and contributing to a significant weight loss if you are eating foods that are healthy and good for you as well. Just a few tips for you but without knowing you or your lifestyle it's hard to completely give you an accurate answer!

Honestly, the best thing you can do is to eat less and move more. You need to reduce how much you eat every day, and make time for exercise. THAT'S the best to way have a healthier lifestyle, which will have a side benefit of taking off excess weight.

My best strategy in losing weight was for dinner to eat mainly veggies (with a no fat dressing if any) and a peice of meat no bigger than the palm of my hand. A medium size potato or cob of corn is a great thing to add to your plate, but no dresssing! Drink no fat or low fat drinks without sugar. For lunches I would have a sandwich with salmon or 1 slice of meat and lots of salad, a piece of fruit and a tub of no fat yoghurt. Rice snack biscuits make a good between meal snack, or a piece of fruit. Also I walked for half an hour each weekday morning (weekends off). I wrote down everything I ate and if I stuck to my goal I would have a nice cold beer or a quarter of a chocolate bar on the weekend as a reward. Rewards are great as they made me really concentrate on getting those goals on paper. Also it is good to find a diet buddy, one that you can compare your progress to. It inspires both of you.

One trick is to eat small portions regulary throughout the day instead of 3 large meals. Never go on starvation diets as the body will conserve more calories thinking it is starving and less when fed many times. Also if you eat small portions and more often throughout the day you will find that you are never hungry.

The simplest answer. Take in less calories and use more calories. Eat less and exercise more. Very easy to say much harder to do. Find a friend with the same goal and do it together. Make a contest out of it.
