My boyfriend of three years is currently stationed in Ft. Lewis, WA for LDAC training. He'll be gone for a while, and I'm just looking for suggestions to keep me occupied... I'm working two jobs and writing him letters, yet still missing him in between all this. Any experiences to share?? Thanks!

hello i would make a scrap book of all the times you too had i dont think you will be missing him by doing this i think you will be smiling by looking at all the fun and funny memories. and the bestpart about this is when he gets home you can give this to him and he will know you made this from the heart and not only that but you two can look through it together and share good times

so what are you waiting for go to the craft store and get those old pics out.

good luck i think this always passes time while having fun

Hey I am sorry to hear that, so many people are experiencing the same thing. The person that I like is stationed in iraq right now and I write letters and he usually keeps in touch but I havent heard from him for over a month now. It's hard but just keep thinking about when he will come home. You just have to remember all the good memories that you two share and just keep writing to him. Good luck with everything =)

First of all, email him from ALL of us and thank him for serving. Then to fill your time, look for somewhere to volunteer. All sorts of park districts programs for kids and adults, hospitals, nursing homes, food pantries, meals on wheels, etc. that need volunteers. Do you have any skills that you can teach to beginners - tennis, volleyball, painting, drawing, baking, all kinds of things? And most volunteering jobs will not require a long time commitment so you will be free when Army man comes home. Good luck to both of you.

My brother in law works for the military in Canada and frequently has to leave for extended periods of time for various training courses. My sister in law says that she leans alot on the women of the other military men because they know what she's going through, and are able to give her the best support. Hope that helps!

My Father went on Iraq when I was 12 yrs and I remember how hard it was...The hardest part was while he was on the plane they told him to have his bags packed within 48 hours cause they were going back. What really helped was prayer and meeting with other wifes -kids in my case- that have their man gone to.

I will be praying for you both! Stay strong! <3
