I am so glad congress shot this bill down! I think instead of coming up with some huge policy, we need to just concentrate on one aspect at a time and work it out as we go.

First thing is security. We need to get that all ironed out NOW. Then move on to what to do with labor issues, penalties, and all the folks that are already here.

Compromise can be found in anything. But just granting millions of people legal status is just stupid.

I think they need to apply, learn English and have to take a history test like everyone else. I am very proud of being an American and take it very seriously. Those who want to live here and be a part of the American dream need to earn it - not just steal it or have it given to them!

I hope not. I actually like Bush but this time I really believe he is wrong. Not to mention, the amendments some of these Dem clowns put on the bill are just ridiculous.
These ILLEGALS are not good for America. Granting them amnesty is just outrageous.
I say screw the bill for now. The first thing we need to do is protect our borders. Put up the fence and hire more border patrol agents. 6 years later and our borders are still fair game for nearly anyone. Who knows how many new diseases, viruses, gang members, terrorists, and more we have already let into this country illegally. Enough is enough. Sadly, I dont see anyone putting a stop to it and doing the right thing. It wouldve happened by now. Stop playing politics for God's sakes. Gambling with our nations future is going to prove horribly wrong.

You want to become a US citizen, then do it just like everyone else apply for it, wait in your country for a response as your suppost to, and get it. Why can't everyone follow the same procedures? What makes them any more special then the ones that when through the system to obtain it. It's worst idea ever, and a bill like this should never be though about.
