well, technically, you can request to cross rate at that point in time. whether or not you will be ABLE too, however, depends. if SH is undermanned, it won't happen. If the rating you are looking to crossrate to is over manned or at strength, it won't happen.

if you don't want SH, then pick another one you qualify for, because there are no guarentees that you will eb allwoed to cross rate.

yeah, its not for sure. You can possibly cross rate, but it all depends on the manning levels, and your commands willingness to let you. The best thing to do is to get the rate you want out the door, that way your not stuck in a job you don't want for 4 years.

What is a Navy Job detailer?? What is a cross rate? Drop the chaloopa and clear your mind...the Navy won't take druggies.
