for people who don't know toast with butter always lands butter side down and cats always land on their feet. At least that is the myth

The attraction between butter and floor is like the strong atomic force. The cat will believe that it's going to land on it's feet, until it comes within 0.5 pm of the floor, at which point it will flip and the toast will win.

Shag carpet increases the force, causing a reversal at only 1 mm.

The cat will land on its feet. A cat quickly turns itself while it is falling. Gravity pulls the buttered side on the toast because it is heavier then the side without butter. Now to actually prove this would be most likely be impossible because it is hard to strap anything to a cats back.

The Cat will land on its feet, because the cat out-weighs the butter.

Umm, I'm gonna take a ranom guess here... the cat lands on it's butt? I don't know!! It would depend on if the cat is bigger than the toast... besides, what cat would let you strap a piece of toast to it's back, and what idiot would try? Answer me that one!!

Oh great, now I'll be awake all night wondering about this one. Maybe I'll just have a cat nap, and a piece of toast later.

the cat would land on its feet because it has more mass than the butter.

Well since the cat is heavier I think it would land on its feet still.
