let me get this straight. You're on the internet. In a place where people are invited to join, type in their 'thoughts', etc. You see that there are people there doing exactly that. AND SOME OF THEM DO IT SOMEWHAT COMPETENTLY. And you find that 'somehow scary'.

If you think that's scary, wait 'til I tell you where milk comes from.

I think I know what you mean. I see some of the answers and questions on here that seem to come from the minds of jibbering idiots. Yet these same idiots seem to know how to get on to this site and use it. Sad how people seem to learn how to use the computer either before or instead of learning basic decency.

Terry Pratchet once said of "The X Files" that the stories were all "I am small and afraid and people are trying to hurt me" - YA makes me feel a little bit that way sometimes. However, it does mean that the streets are not full of all us nutters!!!

Well my bosses' six year old can't read much yet and somehow found his way onto the Walmart website toy section by himself... so adults finding their way to this site, not so surprising after all...hit enough keys and Yahoo will probably turn up...
