new OS on my PS3?

for a while ive been wonderin what the option to "install other OS" means on my ps3. like if i can install XP or sumthing. if not, what OS's is this option referring to?

You can install Linux Yellow Dog OS. But you'll need a compatible mouse and keyboard. Basically, it turns your PS3 into regular (but very powerful computer). After that, you can run XP from Linux YD, but you won't be able to play games due to DirectX issues.
