You'll never really know unless you withhold the sex. If he's OK with that but never brings up the fact of your withholding sex - that he's still around and you two are still great friends, then it wasn't that type of a relationship to begin with. If the focus of your relationship changes and he's trying to get the sex back, then yeah he's in it for the sex. If he isn't talking about sex now but you two seem to have that type of non-verbal binding contract for sex you should pull the sex out of the relationship and see if he is still interested or if you two start having problems. That's the only real way to know; no guy will admit that, and no one really likes to think that it what the relationship amounted to. He may not think of it that way himself, consciously anyway.

NASA is funny...using sex as weapon, you girls learn early.
If he said no...I don't get what the problem is ? Just keep your relationship going the way it is now. If he pressures you, then your feelings are probably right. Even if you date for a year and then go ahead, you will never know for sure until AFTER the fact.

All guys are in it for the sex... Don't listen to the woman who says to deprive him of it... thats just stupid. What if I told your boyfriend to stop telling you he cares to see if you like him enough to put up with it.

If you want to know, just look at the real things in your relationship. Does he meet your needs?
Does he even try to meet your needs?
Do you share the same values?

things like this are a better way to find out.
