Islam Prayer In Bible
In the Prayer, Muslims bow down before God, and make obeisance to Him, by touching the ground before them with their foreheads.
"O You who believe! bow down and prostrate yourselves and serve your lord, and do good that you may prosper." - (Holy Quran 22:77)
"And he (Jesus) went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed..." - (Matt 26:39).
"And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship..." (Joshua 5:14)
"And they (Moses and Aaron) fell upon their faces..." (Num 20:6)
"And Abraham fell on his face..." - (Genesis 17:3)

Absolutely!!! :)
I've studied Islam, Christianity as well as other religions. I find it amazing how similar Islam and parts of Christianity are! I've found a lot of wisdom in the Quran, a lot of consistency where the bible seems to be a careless hack of disjointed stories at times.
Too bad so many people are too pop-cultured to learn how to think for themselves and see that our differences are only a thin veneer on life.
BTW, the "bible" was more or less first compiled by Rome around the year 1000 AD, and it's contents were decided by a council of men. I guess crowd control was in vogue even back then!
The Quran was recited over about a 20-odd year span (more or less) around the year 660 AD.

"O ye People of the Book! Believe in what We have (now) revealed, confirming what was (already) with you....." Surah 4:47 (See also Surahs 2:40,41; 2:91; 20:133; 26:192-198; 29:47 & 46:10-12.)
There is enough evidence to support the claim that the Quran may have been tempered with. Nobody knows where the original Quran is. The Quran that we have in our hands now is called the Uthman's Quran, which was collected long after Mohammed's death. Parts of the original Quran must have been lost, after many of the reciters of the Quran died or were killed in battle. Uthman, the third Caliph (successor of Mohammed) gathered what was left of the Quran, arranged it by length of Surahs rather than chronologically, then burned all other existing copies.
The Bible, in the other hand, has stood the test of time. To suggest that the Bible has been altered is against both reason and historic findings.

Yes it would be appropiate for a Christian to humble his/herself when praying to God, as you pointed out, Jesus and others did it. I think everyone should bow down before God everytime they get the chance but Christianity doesn't impose a certain way that you should pray only that when you do pray you do it not so others can see you praying so as to say "oh, look at me i'm praying to God" but rather we should do it in private and start our prayers by giving reverence to God, like Jesus taught the Lord's prayer in Matthews.
But its okay to pray while you're driving, or walking, if you can't do it kneeling down, God doesn't punish us if we don't pray kneeling down all the time as long as you call on His name and you have a relationship with God, which is what He wants from us. In Christianity, believers are saved not because of works they do but on believing that Jesus is the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity (the person of God who came as Man) because according to the Bible all of man have sinned and fall short of the glory of God therefore God had to send His only begotten son to take our place and suffer for our sins. So, the church doesn't impose on people any rules like "you must pray this way" etc. because then that would be like saying if you don't do this or that this way then you won't be saved, which would make Christ's death on the cross a mistake by God (since He send Him for that purpose) and it would have been in vain. Therefore it is false because the only requirement for salvaton is to believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I'm not saying that we shouldn' t do good works, the bible says that if we are true believers our fruits (or good works) will follow. But definately whenever we get the chance to pray we should do it bowing down before Him; its a very humbling thing to do and it shows that you recognize the power, and reverence that God deserves. I hope this answers your queston. God Bless!

Christians also pray prone. We just don't do it as a ritual. We also worship standing and raising our hands to God in wonder and adoration. We also kneel as before our King. We sit when we are speaking with a friend. There is actually no "correct" way to position the body during prayer. The key is attitude and the condition of your heart.

And John fell on his face as though dead when he saw Jesus in Revelation.
What are you trying to say? That muslims know how to bow, and Christians don't? I'm pretty sure when I see my Lord, I will do the same. Oh, by the way, SO WILL YOU.

Christians call it prostration. There are many ways to pray none unacceptable to God.. "Those who call on the name of the Lord will be saved"... Acts 2:21 Jim

What was the point of this question? Too often people look for proof of their beliefs ignoring anything that is contrary. Sort of like thinking you have lucky socks because you were wearing them when you your last two homeruns. But ignoring the fact you were also wearing the same pair the last 20 times you struck out. I think most humans naturally look for things that support their view of life and ignore those things that contradict it.

Yes, prostration in prayer is encourgaed in the Bible. However, the ritualisation of prayer as in the Quran is not allowed.

I am quite aware of their actions. Appropriate . Yet if Somebody suddenly prostrated in public, they're NOT serveing the lORD. They're specticles, causeing the LORD needing protecting the specticles.

I am curious to what your point is. We all know about bowing before god. Are you are trying to compare 1 component of the 3 major religions. Muslim way of prayer has never been under attack. Please end my confusion.
