Its fondant and when the plates are bussed, there is a lot of taken off the cake. Many people don't like the taste. Stick with pastry cream, much tastier.

fondant-you should watch ace of cakes or that other cooking show where they have to make themed cakes. They say how to do the cakes using fondant all the time.

Fondant or Marzapan and many others but some Fondant is disgusting so taste it before you say yes to it. *!*

Usually they frost with several coats: crumb coat, buttercream, and fondant (if you like fondant)
