I copied from Bishop Robert M. Solomon's "Faith & Fiction"

On page 38

Theologian Athanasius ( 296 - 373 CE )'s major work "On the Incarnation", a classic and powerful defence of the divinity of Christ

. Only God can save. No creature can save another.
. Jesus is God. Therefore only He can save. If He was less than God, He would not be able to save humankind.
. Because Jesus saves, He must be God.

It's circular logic. Circular logic isn't valid.
"Jesus is God." (How do you know?)
"Because he "saves", and only God can save." (How do you *know* that he saves?)
"Because He's God, and God saves."

If you're going to defend the divinity of Christ, first you need to:
(1) Prove that there is a God to begin with.
(2) Prove that we *need* to be saved.
(3) Prove that Jesus is the incarnated God.

This "logic" has done none of that.

Not in the least.

But such is the "logic" of theists.

I guess it takes someone equally brain-dead to believe that is persuasive.

Yes.

Not only that but the Bible teaches that Jesus is God and that Jesus is the only Savior.

I think it's valid. I think you're reasoning from false premises, but it certainly looks valid.
