I just got my retainer on, & my orthodontist specifically said to keep them in 24 hours everyday, EVEN WHEN EATING.
I heard your supposed to take them out when you eat...
So i don't know what to do.

Listen to your ortho if he says to leave it in then obviously it wont hurt dont listen to everything you hear its not always true and there are a lot of differernt types of retainers i didnt take mine out when i ate.

Do what your orthodontist says.
There are lots of different kinds of retainers, some you eat with, some you don't.
Guess you just have the kind you leave in.

If they are removable I would take them out while eating. I had both kinds, and it sucked to clean the one that wasn't removable. Plus I had a serious slobbery lisp!

Yes take them off to eat. They will get dirty if you don't, is kind of grouse.

YES YOU CAN CHEW WITH A RETAINER BUT IT'S MESSY. ASK HIM/HER IS YOU MA REMOVE IT WHEN EATING.
