Probably, and he deserves it.
You may wanna ask him.. he is currently on a 2 week tour of the new orphanage he opened in Africa.
They had 23 children.. they now can sustain over 90 because of our congregation.
Where your money is, so is your heart.
What was the last thing you bought?

I used to have a preacher. I have a hard time with organized religion. If I go there, I need to express my opinion. If they agree, they lose their jobs and their pay.
But many preachers do have a pretty nice retirement program, probably better than mine as a mechanic, so yeah.
Had I stayed with organized religion and swore to their standards, I would have been better off monetarily at this point. I must have a charachter flaw, although I do love much of the Bible and am a law abiding citizen and do advocate such strongly.

Dear jennyann4,
Very few preachers- mainly only Senior Pastors get retirement packages. It is pre-negotiated and in most congregations either the congregation votes, or there is an appointed committee who negotiates these things with the Pastor before hand. Like most jobs- Pastors are at-will employed and so i hope that no where in your question are you trying to imply that a Pastor is using a church for finanical purposes. Most people who become Pastors are not doing it for the money.
Most employers in offer 401k plans which most churches do not offer to their Pastors. Most churches may pay for housing, medical or dental insurance, and maybe some sort of life insurance company... but again it is worked out between the pastor and the committee on congregation.
i don't get a retirement package from my church- but thankful that i have one from my other full-time job.
Kindly,
Nickster

Mine has one, but I have no idea if it's better. Additionally, he and his wife saved all their lives and recently purchased some property with a house on it, now they are working towards making it into a camp for Christians to have retreats. They tell me they plan on retiring to that house one day.

I don't think so. I think he has an IRA. I have a 401(k) plan and some IRAs. Most preachers don't have any kind of retirement plan.

Yes! The pastor of my Church goes on trips for a week at a time at least once a month. The Church pays for them and it make me mad. I think the money would be better spent on food for the poor or the homeless. He go to New york to see shows or on cruses. Not church work.

The Catholic Church has the best retirement... their pedophile priest get their legal expenses paid by the church and then they get a paid retirement in Europe (because it's cheaper for the church to keep them in luxury in Europe, than pay lawsuits in the US.)
