I would find that unlikely. The 101st is a very famous division with a very prestigious past. Changing the name would be like changing the identity. I don't think the men and women that serve in that division would approve.

Never happen; the 101st has a long history as an airborne division (Carentan, Bastogne, Normandy, St. Marie Eglise, etc...)

The Airborne tab is there and it will remain there forever.

I don't think they will. I agree that there is too much history behind the patch.


As for the berets, the funniest thing I have ever seen was soldiers after a speach by President Bush remove the berets and see all the ring-around-the-head sunburns. It was a few years ago on Campbell. (The soldiers were getting into their vehicles)
The berets were not the smartest change I have ever seen second is velco for the patches on the ACUs.

Well its been 40 years and it hasn't happened yet.

So it probally will never happen.

101st Pathfinders are still on jump status.

I doubt it , the army has already made one mistake regarding uniforms by making us wear those stupid black berets..
