Christians rely a lot on the Old Testament, but what i've learned so far (i'm a catholic, but by choice this time) is that the Old Testament is there for us to understand how things were in those times. Then came Christ, and taught us to forgive, to love and to let others live. There's no other way to it. He is Love, Love is forgiving, love is living in peace, love is letting others live their life, and if it worries some much, let GOD decide who's living in sin or not.

Not ALL Christians do it. But for some curious reason, fundamentalists are fixated on gays and the gay world. I'm wondering if there isn't a psychological aspect to this addiction. Consider the fundamentalist Westboro Baptist Church and the army of con-men financed by the Fundies--otherwise known, politely, as televangelists. Jerry Falwell made a career of bashing gay Americans. As perhaps you know, it's central to the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church. It's interesting to me that even the word 'homosexual' has been added to certain versions of the Bible, a word that was coined in Germany in 1869. Today's gay 'community,' the bond between two men or two women, did not exist at the time the books of the Old Testament was thrown together. In fact, I have heard that in the original texts, written in Greek and Hebrew, the meaning was not love between members of the same-sex but instead male prostitute who were found in pagan ceremonies and even in The Temple in Jerusalem. But the Bible was written by men, including men who feared sex of any kind, and over the centuries, for reasons that may be suspect, then and now, men were fixated on homosexuality. It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world, lad.

First, you're generalizing. Many Christians accept homosexuality etc.
But, to answer your question, some Christians are taught from birth that this is wrong, and that is a sin, and you'll go to Hell if... Well, this is all they know. Their parents tell them, their priest/minister/etc. tell them, everyone they know and trust tell them this. So, they assume it's right. (They don't take the time to get to know anybody that's gay because they believe that they'll go to Hell if they do, or they believe they'll catch gay, or something silly like that.) It's a vicious cycle.
It's not their fault, really. Not that we should pity them.
-_-
Bisexuality is a legitimate sexuality.
Gay is not a choice. Nobody would choose that ****.
Hey, Ray- If being a homosexual is a sin, but not a homophile, because of the acting then surely a heterosexual must be going to Hell, too, because they're not /just/ a heterophile.

Christians who tell other people that they are going to Hell are not preaching the gospel message. The message is that ALL have sinned and deserve to go to Hell but God so loved the world that He sent his son Jesus so that we don't all have to go there.
That having been said, God's plan for human sexuality is for a man to have a wife. It was written in Genesis and Jesus quoted it when He was teaching.
Matthew 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
I used to be a drunkard and a fornicator and was on the road to Hell but God called me out of that life and gave me his Holy Spirit so that I can live a life that is pleasing to Him. I'm not married and so I don't have sex with women anymore. I couldn't control my drinking and so I don't drink anymore. It isn't that I'm never tempted but God has given me the power to live a changed life and He can give it to you too. He has been doing it for people like me and you ever since the days that Paul wrote to the church in Corinth and before too.
1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such WERE some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

I'm gay to. I've determined that Christianity is a heterosexuals only club. Especially after the Bible's edict against homosexuality in Leviticus. I personally don't understand why my fellow gay people want to be involved with it. They used to burn us at the stake centuries ago. I also don't understand why anyone from African ancestry would want to be Christian either. The Biblical god is perfectly okay with slavery. Why would anyone in their right mind want to be involved with such a jerk like that?
I just don't get it.
Is it a kind of Stockholm syndrome maybe?

Yeah, it's not right.
I can only sense hate from those kinds of comments.
It's not a choice for some people. Some are just born that way.
Did god intentionally created a human being who's destined to go to hell? Well, that's not fair. I thought god creates and treats "all" lives equally.

I am an orthodoxy christian and believe that homosexuality is a sin. But God save me from judging other people and their sins, I have my own ones to take care. Yes according to the Bible homosexuality is a SIN, but it is their decision , their choice. I have homosexual friends, very good and respectable people, I am not ashamed of them they are in my hart and let God judge us. We have no right to do His job, we all are sinners.

The Old Testament says it is wrong. The New Testament says it is wrong.
If they said all Homosexuals would land on Jupiter, then that's what we would say.But it says ,it is an abomination before God.So that's why they tell you. They don't want to see you go Hell.Jesus talked more of Hell than heaven,He knows how bad it is.

Well the act is an abomination, but God doesn't hate you! He hates/dislikes the act! It's in the bible, all you have to do is read it!
And you can't go to hell for socializing with Gays. That's ludicrous. I treat pple with love and respect despite my beliefs. Pple twist the bible to fit their percpetions. Take it in its literal sense and metaphorically as well. Everything isn't meant to be taken literally in the bible.
And yes there were gays in the bible: Sodom and Gomorrah, God wiped out both cities.
If you don't accept Jesus that's how you go to hell. But, if you do ,then that lifestyle has to cease to exist.

I'm christian, and I've never told anyone they're going to hell. I'm not God, I don't have the inside tract on who's going where, its not my job, it's His. We're all sinners, I have my own sins to worry about.
