STATEMENT TO THE U.N. SPECIAL COMMITTEE ON PALESTINE by Chief Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Dushinsky

The ancient right of the People of Israel to the land of Israel.
In approaching what is commonly called the Palestine problem and in trying to find a just and suitable solution it is imperative that the history of the Holy Land and its correlation with the Jewish people be viewed in their proper perspective. Indeed from the day onwards on which the L-rd said to Abraham: "Arise, walk through the Land, in the length of it and in the breadth, for I will give it unto thee "(Genesis, 13, 17), this country was predestined to be the land of domicile for the People of Israel. However, this predestination, this divine promise, has its basis but in religion, for only loyalty to HIS laws and teachings and fundamental application of that Law in Israel's public and private life will entitle them to the name "People of Israel" and only then can the term "Land of Israel" apply to this land as it is aid: "And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation" (Exodus 19, 6) and further: "For thou art a holy people under the L-rd, thy G-d." (Deuteronomy 7, 6). The interrelation between the land of Israel and the people of Israel rise and falls with the degree and intensity with which they fulfill the Holy Law. Past experience proves that Israel fell easy prey to their enemies whenever they deviated from the path prescribed in the Holy Bible, a fact to which the chapters of the Bible bear eloquent evidence.

I'm a Catholic but I'm extremely anti-Zionist. I hate it when these people - Zionists - whether "born-again" Christians,ultra-orthodox Jews or secular jews on a racial-superiority kick call you an anti-semite because you think Palestine deserves a multicultural democracy instead of this weird idea of reconstituting an ancient state using people who are only very, very, very, remotely descended from the ancient Hebrews. The thing is,most of the jews who are gung-ho on this are "secular" - atheist,so what is their justification anyway? All the indiginous jews were outraged by the idea of Zionism - forcing God's will - and said as much to Meyer Weisgal, the Jewish Agency's point-of-contact in the 30s and 40s with Palestinian Jews - people who had stayed, lived there since ancient times, etc. - been there all along. They told him to get lost. For their part, the Zionists couldn't have cared less what the native Jews had to say. (ps - I only cap "Jew" if I am referring to religious Jews. It's a religion, not an ethnic group and I refuse to acknowledge any "non-religious jew" as a jew. They are liars and fakes.)

I'm a Muslim against Zionism. I wish that either Israel had never come into existence at all or that the USA/UN didn't let Israel get away with stealing more land then what they were originally granted in the UN dividing of Palestine and Israel.

We have two kind of Zionism n they're different from each other : Religious Zionism & Modern Zionism [ Also political Zionism ] . Religious Zionists are waitin' for a Messiah n believe that they musn't do anythin' themselves before he comes to the mountain of "Zion" [also sahyun] as modern Zionists are doin' whatever they want in the name of religious Zionism n the result is what we see on newspapers n news networks . I'm not a Jew but I hate Modern Zionism.

People are against Israel out of jealousy. In particular the Muslims. Look at the Pakistani's, Bangladeshi's and various Muslim countries. Their countries are so crap that deep down they envy that Israel can turn a strip of sand into a successful country.
If Israel was a poor country with people living in poverty as the government was wasting all it's money on buying weapons and police, people would be more sympathetic.
The Muslims are always jealous of non-Muslim successful countries. But note, that Muslims are flocking to leave Islamic countries and live in non-Muslim countries all around the world. Then they turn these areas into the very slums they left.

I am anti zionist, I would like to see a return to Muslims and Jews living in peace, before the imperialist western powers, decided to butcher the map, redraw boundaries, and distribute lands. I've nothing against my Jewish brothers and sisters, and do not understand why we can't live in peace, as we had in the past before the last 100 years. Muslims and Jews worked together during the crusades when Christians were killing our peoples, after all Islamic countries gave shelter to fleeing Jews, and many Jews helped Muslims escape the Christianist crusaders.

I think its really ignorant when people start blabbing about "gods chosen people" and why they supposedly have the right to steal away a country from innocent defenseless people. I have no problem with Jews, in-fact my religion asks me to respect them (I'm Muslim), but i have no respect whatsoever for Zionist (not all Zionist are Jews and not all Jews are Zionist)
I'm a Muslim against Zionism

No, but I am against idiots. And you qualify. Bringing up a 60-year-old statement by one individual; surely you can do better than that to justify your position. Or maybe not.

I'm not Jewish, but I bet there are many Jewish friends who are against it.
Judaism and Zionism are two different things, I always keep that in mind.
Peace.
