Why do Christians today not concern themselves with Jesus life but only his death? The Bible is missing 18 years of the life of Jesus, and his ministry in Judea only lasted 3.5 years, yet the Gospel of John states that Jesus did so many things that it would not fill all the books in the world, and that's after only 3.5 years of his ministry.

Why do most Christians today not care about those lost years, and what he did and stood for? Are they scared they may find something they don't like, like the fact that Jesus went east to study God and learn about God in different religions? Are people scared that Christianity is based more on Eastern religions than they want to admit? Hiding their heads in the ground does not kill the truth.

This is the reason I read books concerning Jesus and his teachings outside of traditional Christianity, gnostic/Eastern. I supplement the Bible with these, as this paints a truer picture of Jesus Christ. I'm glad I did, I know my Saviour AND Master

LOL! So, exactly which contemporaneous readings, by which authoritative intimates of Jesus, have you found to enlighten you on those "missing years" and why are you hiding them from the world?

Addendum: "authors who are known to have been either witnesses to Christ or have interviewed those that were first hand"

The Missing Years Of Jesus

Does it matter just like the world looking and guessing? Christians do care and have a interest.. they are lead by the spirit of God....the spirit confirms and renews ones way of thinking. Jesus knew what was in man from the beginning of time. nothing man does or say is a surprise to God. He said if you have known me you would have known the Father. Funny those years were not lost...God knows and if you pay attention I am sure you would gain knowleged when reading the parables. Jesus spoke in parables and the beattitudes. He learned a lot through observation...go figure.

Christians respect truth above all things and are unwilling to support speculation and spurious accounts. If there was reliable accounts of the so called missing years Christians would accept them and have an interest in them. However there are no such writings that offer reliable accounts of Jesus' life. Christians are concerned with Jesus' sacrifice because it is through that sacrifice that humanity may be saved. Christianity is based on the teaching of Jesus Christ as well as the prophecy that was fulfilled by his life, death and resurrection.

Certainly reading writings of unknown origin and authorship that are not consistent with the writings of the authors who are known to have been either witnesses to Christ or have interviewed those that were first hand should not be understood to have the veracity of those writings that met the criteria of inspiration and suitability for teaching. In fact, the writings you suggest by the Gnostics and others do not depict a true understanding of Christ but a heretical caricature of the Savior of the world.

First, let me acknowlege that it is the LIFE of Christ that saves us (Christ in you; the hope of glory).

As for your points:
Are they scared they may find something they don't like
*not at all

like the fact that Jesus went east to study God and learn about God in different religions
*where did you get your "fact?"

Are people scared that Christianity is based more on Eastern religions than they want to admit?
*no. Mere bald assertion does not make it so.

This is the reason I read books concerning Jesus and his teachings outside of traditional Christianity, gnostic/Eastern. I supplement the Bible with these, as this paints a truer picture of Jesus Christ.
*truer according to whom? Some half-baked liberal "scholar" with an axe to grind?

While it is true that the life of Christ that saves us, it is equally true that the portion which God saw fit to record is that portion which matters. During the early years of his life, the Jews would not have listened to Him anyway, since a man had nothing to say until He was at least thirty.

What do most people do when they are toddlers, small children, pre teens, teenagers, young adults? They grow up, get educated, and begin a career. Jesus learned to be a carpenter. The Apostles were not with Jesus is whole life, just His first Apostle, His mother Mary. Jesus also did not have a secretary taking notes or keeping a diary of His childhood years

There aren't any lost years. He grew up like anyone else. The time we are concerned with are the last 3.5. These are the ones that effect everyone 2,000 years later. Those 18 don't.

Ancient historians only wrote down what they thought was important or contained a valuable lesson to be learned, therefore, they focused on Jesus' three-year ministry in which he announced the kingdom of God, repentance, passion, death, and ressurrection, and the Ascension to Heaven. Jesus purpose for coming to earth was based of those three years of teaching and his sacrifice/resurrection. Jesus did not get involved w/ pagan or eastern religions, becaues he came to do his Father's will. God bless.

Find where Joseph his 'father' went, and you will find Jesus there. (They both disappeared together) "Lift the stone and you will find me; split a piece of wood and I am there." Where were the master builders based, and where did they hang out, especially if the bounty hunters were all busy hunting them (Messiah and his family) down? There can really be only one answer to this, if you dare to think it through.
