A man longs for companionship, so he buys a puppy. He treats the puppy well at first, bu then the puppy digs up the man's yard. He becomes furious at the puppy and beats it and mistreats it. The man continues to punish the puppy everyday, despite the fact that it tries to make up for its actions. It tries to lick him and is struck, it tries to portect him from people that show agression toward him, and it is struck. The puppy never changes and grows old and dies trying to please it's owner, who still showed much anger toward the dog for digging up his yard.

What message do you get from this story?

Now, if all the puppy's puppys and so forth are also struck because the one puppy dug up the yard, I would get Abrahamic religions from this story. Am I close?
